Short biography

From a boyhood dream to reality. Jord Althuizen started cooking meat over real fire in 2010, for the best fire-cooking taste and experience. Not only in the summer months, but also in the winter months the grill goes on at Jord!

Jord is the founder, owner and pitmaster of Authentic BBQ Catering company Smokey Goodness. He is a former chef, culinary editor and restaurant manager. And he does this with great success! For example, his Rotterdam restaurant Black Smoke now also has a Belgian branch in Antwerp, and you can also taste Jord's dishes at his Amsterdam restaurant The Rough Kitchen.

He shares the knowledge Jord has gained in recent years in his Smokey Goodness books and BBQ workshops where he cooks on The Bastard. With all the recipes, stories and reports in his cookbooks, Jord takes you into the world of BBQ. Several of Jord Althuizen's cookbooks have been named Cookbook of the Year. Meanwhile, more than 330,00 copies have been sold. Not only in the Netherlands, but also in England, America, Germany, Hungary and France.

Jord Althuizen has teamed up with The Bastard brought his own Smokey Goodness line, including wood charcoal, sauces, rubs, smoking wood, smoke chucks, butcher paper and smoking boards.
