Ordering and delivery
How is a kamado delivered?
Kamados are heavy, so we deliver them by appointment with a specialised carrier. After your order the carrier calls you to agree on a date. Please enter a phone number you can be reached on. Someone must be present to receive the kamado and check it for damage.
What are the shipping costs?
Netherlands: € 9,95 for orders up to € 50, free from € 50. Belgium: € 12,95 for orders up to € 50 and € 24,95 for orders of € 50 and up. Kamados are always delivered by appointment. The exact costs are shown in the checkout before you pay.
How long does delivery take?
We aim to have your order ready for shipment within 5 working days. Accessories usually arrive 1 to 3 working days after shipment. For kamados the delivery date is agreed with the carrier.
Where can I see The Bastard in real life?
At one of our dealers in the Netherlands and Belgium. Use the dealer locator to find the nearest one. Dealers can also deliver and help you get started.
Choosing your Bastard
What is the difference between Complete and Solo?
Complete is the kamado with stand and side tables, ready to cook. Solo is the kamado only, for a built-in outdoor kitchen or your own table or stand.
Which size do I need?
Compact (33 cm grill) is ideal for balconies and 2 to 4 people. Medium (40 cm) suits most families of 4 to 6. Large (49 cm) is the all-rounder for 6 to 10 people and larger cuts. XL is our biggest kamado, made for cooking for a crowd. In doubt? A dealer will gladly advise you.
What is the difference between the series?
Pro is our top model with the Dynamic Twist Deflector, split firebox and heavy-duty Pro stand. Core combines the latest Bastard technology with a 20-year limited warranty on the ceramics. VX is built for performance, style and innovation. Urban is the original Bastard, the accessible way in. Classic is the timeless pick for pure ease of use.
Warranty and care
What warranty do I get?
All Bastard products come with a 24-month factory warranty. The ceramic parts of our kamados are covered for 2 to 20 years, depending on the model, as stated in the manual. Register your kamado on our registration page so we can help you faster.
Can my Bastard stay outside?
Yes. Ceramic handles frost and heat well, but always cover the kamado when it is not in use. A rain cover protects against UV, discolouration and moisture but is never fully waterproof, so a covered spot or indoor storage in winter is best.
How do I clean and maintain my kamado?
Burn off residue at high heat, brush the grid while it is hot and empty the ash pan regularly. Clean the ceramic shell with the Ceramics Clean set and protect cast iron with the Cast Iron Care Spray. Check the felt gasket once a season.
I need a spare part or service. Where do I go?
Open a ticket in our helpdesk or use the service request form in the footer. Have your model, serial number and proof of purchase ready. Your dealer can also help with parts and repairs.
Returns
Can I return my order?
Yes, within 30 days after receipt. E-mail contact-nl@thebastard.com with your order number and we send you the return instructions. Kamados are collected by appointment. See our refund policy for the details.
My order arrived damaged. What now?
Report it as soon as possible, preferably within 2 days, with a photo and your order number. We arrange a replacement, repair or refund at no cost to you.
