The American dream, this summery dessert and delicious for those long, languid summer evenings that seem to have no end in sight. Enjoy the setting sun, playing children and a good glass of wine. It also works well in the harsh Dutch reality where it is raining cats and dogs, the walls are closing in on you and you just have to get out for a while. Either way, this cobbler makes the sun shine over the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Cooking time: 60 |

Temperature: 180°, direct & Indirect

What do you need?

Biscuit dough - 125 gr flour - 40 gr sugar - 1 teaspoon baking powder - 100 gr butter (soft) Fruit - 50 gr butter - 150 gr blueberries - 225 gr strawberries - 225 gr blackberries - 185 gr raspberries - 150 gr sugar - 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon salt Topping - 250 ml whipped cream

Preparation method

White House preparations @POTUS: Make the batter by mixing the sugar and butter well together at room temperature. Then add the flour and baking powder. Threaten with some trade measures and throw on that BBQ at 180 °C. Fire in the fruit! Melt the butter in the pan or baking dish and mix the fruit with the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Grill this sunflower in the pan until it is bubbling with delight. Stir it a little from the bottom. But beware, you never know what will come loose. Fast fruit Spread the batter over the fruit. Now put your pan over an indirect fire by placing a plate setter between it. Bake your cobbler for about 30 minutes until it has formed a beautiful crust. In the meantime, whip up the cream while trying with all your might to remember the first line of the American national anthem. Serve the cobbler with lots of bravado and a nice lump of whipped cream as a topping.
